Flower Petal Confetti For the Table

Amethyst goblet with floating confetti

Aside from its traditional use to shower the happy couple, Lily Rose & Wylde hand blended flower confetti looks beautiful placed in glass bowls or vintage drinks glasses.  Or, it can be strewn across the table to impart a sense of abandoned rapture!

rose bud single How much does a litre of dried flower petals weigh?

When comparing prices for dried flower petals, it's worth mentioning that some suppliers sell their products by the litre volume - in other words, the amount of dried plant material which will fill a 1 litre size measuring jug.

A litre of petals is not an accurate measure. Rosebuds, for instance, are denser and therefore heavier than rose petals. So a full litre volume of dried rosebuds weighs around 150g, whereas a litre of rose petals weighs around 50g.

Larkspur petals are the lightest of all, a full litre volume weighing as little as 19g.  Larkspur is also extremely expensive when purchased by metric weight, which is why we have decided to offer the larkspur based confetti mixtures per litre volume in the traditional way.

If choosing a larkspur based confetti mixture (e.g. "Sunlight of the Grove", or "Forever Amethyst"), a 1 litre volume pack is more than enough to fill 12 confetti cones.

A guide to quantities required for natural flower confetti

The art of flower strewing and cone filling is not an exact science, and thus the following is only a rough guide.  As explained above, different flowers have differing densities, and thus the amount required will depend entirely on the type of flower(s) used.

100g of our "Jewel Hues" dried flower confetti blend, including rose petals, rosebuds and blue mallow, will fill about 12 average size confetti cones. An average size cone is approximately 17cm tall and about 6cm across the widest part.  A 1 litre volume pack of a larkspur based confetti blend such as "Sunlight of the Grove" will also fill 12 cones.

For a light scattering of petals along a pathway of one metre wide, you will need approximately 150g of  "Jewel Hues" confetti blend for every metre length.  If choosing one of our larkspur mixes such as "Sunlight of the Grove", then 1.5 litre volume will be sufficient.

For a light scattering of "Jewel Hues" table confetti, you will need about 150g for 9-10 large banqueting tables.  If choosing one of our larkspur based blends such as "Sunlight of the Grove", then 1.5 litre volume of flower confetti will be sufficient.

For a veritable orgy of petals as illustrated in the painting above, you will need  considerably more!

Dried flowers should be kept in well sealed bags and stored in a cool, dry, dark place such as a cupboard or drawer.  Stored at room temperature, they should retain their natural colours and characteristic aromas for at least 12 months from the date of purchase.

Bespoke Confetti Cones  rose bud single

We'd be delighted to make you a set of beautiful confetti cones if you wish. These we fashion from extra thick handmade paper which is firm enough to stand up without curling.

If desired, we could also decorate each cone with a single pressed flower of your choice, such as a deep red or pink rose - or you could have multiple flowers of your choice (e.g. some cones decorated with a purple larkspur, some with a red rose, others with a blue hydrangea).

Usually you need only enough confetti cones for approximately a quarter of the guests present - for example, 25 cones per 75-100 guests. Indeed, there's no need to bury the couple under showers of petals.

Postage is our flat-rate £2.50, no matter how many items you may choose to order.
