Guest Books for Lovers of Nostalgic and Bohemian Style

A collection of unique handmade boxed guest books decorated in vintage Bohemian mood, with most designs incorporating authentic antique and early vintage lace trims.

The guest books and presentation boxes are made with fair trade handmade papers and card, including mulberry paper from Thailand, lokta paper from Nepal and linen paper sheets from India.

As all the paper used in the making of these items is acid-free, it's perfect for photos, pressed flowers and paper keepsakes which can be placed between the pages.

Choosing Your Colours

Although white does not feature very much in our designs, we would be delighted to cover your wedding guest book in a white coloured 100% silk dupion fabric if this is your dream.

On the other hand, we are happy to accommodate requests for an all-black colour scheme. Other possibilites are dark chocolate and ivory; art deco red and green; turquoise and peach; rose pink and ice blue; midnight blue and silver; or indeed, any other hues according to your own good taste.

We can also create big wedding guest books for celebrity weddings and for Asian themed weddings. Images of sample work will be uploaded shortly.

For big weddings (up to 500 guests), we can transpose almost any of our existing designs on to a jumbo sized hardback book. With a few design adaptations to accommodate the bigger space, you can have the guest book of your dreams.

Interestingly, the bridal white tradition began with Queen Victoria who chose to wear a white gown and veil on her wedding day. Hitherto, wedding decor and wedding gowns were flamboyantly colourful, at least for those who could afford such luxury!

Aside from weddings, our guest books are delightful for marking other notable occasions, events and milestones - including special birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties, bon voyage parties, to celebrate the arrival of a baby, and so on. Whereas creative writers and poets may enjoy using these books to record their most precious musings.

Personalisation of your guest book

If you would like names, date and venue included, this option is available at no extra charge. We will include a parchment style card with your chosen wording - printed in an attractive script font in sepia toned ink. The card can be attached either to the inside hardcover, or on the first page of the guest book.

Some designs include pure silk roses, which we make ourselves using finest quality pure silk fabrics, including pure silk chiffon and handloom silk dupion. It's important to mention that most ready-made 'silk' roses are actually made from cheap synthetic fabrics such as polyester and nylon. We much prefer the soft static-free texture and appearance of real silk.

Other books are embellished with art nouveau reproduction brass stampings, oxidised to impart an aged appearance. Most stampings are also available with an antiqued sterling silver plating if preferred. These pieces are normally used for making quality vintage style jewellery. The stampings are mostly manufactured in the USA, using the original dies and other tooling dating from the Edwardian era.

Our guest books vary in price according to the embellishments used. For example, early vintage lace (1930s-1940s) and antique lace (pre-1920s) are increasingly hard to find and continue to increase in price. Our stock of lace is constantly being replenished.

Occasionally we may come across an extra special piece of lace which costs more than average - and thus, the listed price of the guest book will reflect this.

All guest books are decorated to order. Due to the current high volume of orders being received, we kindly request that you allow 3 weeks before despatch.

If you have a tight deadline to meet, please contact us before placing an order to find out if we are able to finish your project in time. We do sometimes have a few ready-made guest books available in one or two of the designs featured on this page. These books are set aside for customers who are unable to wait longer than 7 working days for receipt - although the design choice will be limited.

Postage is our usual flat-rate charge of £2.50
