  Regency Style Couch
Bespoke Antique Reproduction Seating

Lily Rose & Wylde now offers a bespoke service for antique reproduction upholstered furniture, including chaise longues, Regency style sofas, grandfather chairs and traditional nursing chairs.  The furniture is hand built to exacting standards and is available in your own choice of upholstery fabric, the mahogany frame being available in either polished or painted finishes.

Our favourite seat from this collection is the couch shown above - a handcrafted piece reflecting the elegant and eclectic Regency style.  The Regency period spans the late eighteenth century to early nineteenth century, an era when furniture designs were inspired by Roman, Gothic, Egyptian and Asian ornament.

Of course, there's no need to be slavish to any particular style. Imagine the Regency couch covered in a totally different style of fabric - such as a William Morris arts-and-crafts design, a sumptuous brocade, rich damask, country chintz, or plain linen.  On the other hand, you may be dreaming of something truly outrageous to express your innermost desires!

Your preferred upholstery fabric and wood finish

Once you have chosen a chair from our collection, please contact us to discuss the style and type of upholstery fabric you have in mind.  Unless you'd prefer to supply your own upholstery fabric, we can send fabric samples on request.  Additionally, we can provide colour samples of the various paint finishes available.

Incidentally, we think that any of the chairs featured here would look amazing if covered in a pure flax linen upholstery fabric, possibly even vintage/antique linen. Heavy weight vintage linens (such as cart covers) can sometimes be obtained from specialist antique textile suppliers. The combination of ornate French antique style chair frame with rustic linen upholstery would create a characterful piece of furniture.

We can suggest suppliers of pure flax linen upholstery fabrics (including vintage linens) if required. It's important to mention, however, that we do not receive commission for recommending other fabric suppliers; we do so purely because we are devotees of  pure linen and would like to see more of it around.  Although we have an account with Ferguson's Irish linen, they are not weavers of heavy weight fabrics suitable for upholstery purposes.

Is Bespoke  More Expensive than Ready-Made?

Whether your preference is antique reproduction seating, or a piece chosen from our Masquerade collection, it's important to mention that we have a direct relationship with our furniture makers, finishers and upholsterers.  This cuts out the middle man - and thus, we can share with our customers the savings we make. Furthermore, we don't have the expense of a showroom, neither do we invest huge amounts in advertising and marketing.

When you consider the attention to detail, the superior durability and beauty of our furniture, each piece handcrafted to perfection, then our bespoke furniture is very reasonably priced indeed. Unlike mass produced furniture, which is often poorly made from inferior materials, our furniture is likely to improve with age. Indeed, with proper care each piece will take on its own special character and will be enjoyed for generations to come.

Even taking into account the additional costs required for upholstery fabric and delivery to your address, you can be assured that the final price you pay remains competitive. All in all, we're confident that we are offering you some of the best deals in quality reproduction furniture that you will find anywhere.

The delivery charge to most UK mainland addresses is £35 per load (£45 per load for Scotland).  Per load means any number of items delivered at the same time to a single address

We normally request a 50% deposit rather than the full amount upfront, as delivery for a fully upholstered piece of bespoke furniture is 6-8 weeks. Cheque payments are preferred, but there is the option of making a card payment via the secure PayPal system (see product descriptions below).

Our prices for this particular collection of bespoke antique reproduction furniture are considerably lower than you will find elsewhere.  Our price for the Regency couch, for example, is 40% lower than the retail price our furniture maker would normally ask.
