 Irish Linen Premier Range of Sheets, Pillowcases and Duvet Covers in White and Natural Thomas Ferguson Premier range of Irish linen bedding is available in white and unbleached natural flax. This range is a little more expensive than the heavier weight Thomas Fergsuon Superior range of bedding which we also offer.
When comparing the two grades of Irish linen, the Premier grade is woven from finer (i.e. thinner) flax yarns - and thus, is a slightly lighter weight fabric than the Superior grade bed linen. Premier bed linen is also marginally softer to the touch. That said, all Irish linen becomes softer after several launderings and is a joy to sleep on due to its anti-static property and ability to 'breathe'.

Premier Irish linen (product code 013) is made from finer and therefore lighter weight flax yarns: 150gsm
 It's important to emphasise that Premier grade Irish linen linen is not necessarily 'better' than the less expensive Superior grade Irish linen bedding which is also offered on this website; rather it's purely a matter of personal preference. Incidentally, we at Lily Rose & Wylde prefer the less expensive and heavier weight Superior grade Irish linen for everyday use. The main reason why we have decided to include the Thomas Ferguson Premier bed linen, alongside the Superior grade, is because the Premier sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers are not only available in classic white, but also in natural unbleached flax. The natural version is only available as part of the Thomas Ferguson Premier range.
If in doubt about which quality of Irish linen is best for you, do feel free to contact us to request fabric swatches. We usually have these available from our own stock, although sometimes we may need to order the samples from Ireland specially for you.
Many of our customers have expressed a preference for the deep ecru colour of 100% pure Irish linen woven from unbleached flax yarns. Please be aware that unbleached flax linen is naturally two or three shades darker than unbleached cotton.
For this reason, some Irish linen devotees enjoy mixing the two shades together - for example, natural unbleached pillowcases, together with white sheets and natural flax duvet cover. This combination can be seen in the image at the top of the page.
 Available in Hemstitched or Double Row Cord
All Irish linen bed linens are availabe with two hem options: Hemstitched or Double Row Cord. Hemstiched is the most popular and is a form of drawn thread as seen in antique linens. The double row cord option is arguably less decorative, but it does not weaken the fabric, and is probably more suitable for commercial uses.
 Why we do not offer fitted Irish linen sheets
We offer only flat sheets as they can be rotated. Top sheets tend to last longer, whereas exclusively bottom sheets and fitted sheets will wear out sooner due to the friction of lying on them. So it's always advisable to rotate your top and bottom sheets to prolong the life of your bed linen.
Lifespan of Irish Linen Bed Linens
Irish linen is very durable and with proper care (e.g. avoid the use of bleach and laundry products containing optical brighteners) will usually outlive cotton by many years. So, although more expensive than cotton, the investment in Irish linen is always worth it.

Delivery Schedule
As with most of our Irish linens, this is not an off-the-shelf product. Your order for Irish linen bedding will be cut and sewn specially for you - even if you order just a single pillowcase!
Please allow 3-4 weeks before despatch. We will notify you as soon as we receive confirmation that your order is ready to be collected by the courier or by Royal Mail (depending on weight). All orders will require a signature on receipt.
We offer a flat-rate postage of only £2.50 within the UK, no matter how large your order may be.
