Handmade deco inspired guest book, glass beaded trim, antique lace

This design is strictly limited edition - only two books can ever be made featuring this beaded trim, which was salvaged from an old evening dress. The design incorporates a beautiful piece of antique French lace which envelopes the book spine. In choosing this design, you will have a very special guest book indeed!
Inspired by the art deco era, the book is wrapped front and back in champagne coloured handloomed silk dupion fabric, with its characteristic texture and slubby weave.
The front cover is embellished with a remnant of vintage pale coffee coloured silk chiffon fabric. It's heavily embellished with hundreds of tiny silvery coloured real glass seed beads, and thus a heavyweight piece. The silken art deco style border is a vintage trim made from soft cotton and other fibres and dates from the early 1960s. The colours are dark coffee, cream and coffee au lait.
Enveloping the spine of this book is a truly beautiful piece of deep caramel coloured antique French lace (c. early 1900s) Intricately worked by hand, this lace has a scalloped edge and is made from 100% cotton. We have only one metre of this lace in stock. It's doubtful that we will ever find more of exactly the same design.
Above you can also see the vintage art deco style metallic trim (in limited supply) which decorates the edge of the presentation box. The trim is made from real metal threads and is about 60 years old, with aged deep bronze hue. Please note that the presentation box looks white in the above image, but in reality is more of a pale buttermilk shade.
This design is finished with a reproduction solid brass butterfly with intricate design. It's been antiqued to a deep golden hue. The butterfly is optional (see option boxes below).
Alternatively, you may prefer a handmade champagne coloured 100% silk dupion rose incorporated with this design, as shown below.
The high quality guest book has 40 unlined sheets of acid-free, handmade linen paper in pale cream. The front cover of the guest book is padded. The presentation box lid is also padded.

As with all of our guest books, the inside of the hard cover, back and front, is embellished with unbleached textured banana paper, which you can glimpse to the left of the above image.
Size of book: 15 x 23cm (6 x 9.4 inches) with 40 sheets, the box is a little larger. With its heavier weight paper, this guest book can be used as a photo album as well.
Please note: this book is only available in the standard 6 x 9.4 inches, as there is not enough glass beaded trim left over for creating the same design on the larger size guest book.
