The lid of this gold lacquered tin is hand-decorated with a remnant of vintage linen, together with a printed image taken from a 1920s postcard and two pressed pink roses gathered from the garden. The composition is sealed with a protective decoupage varnish which imparts a silken finish. 

 

For a special gift, fill the tin with handmade chocolates, crystallised edible flowers, sewing threads, bottle of essential oil or perfume, little tablets of handmade soap - or perhaps an item of jewellery. Even when presented empty (excepting the acid-free tissue paper and a few dried rose buds we put in each tin), it makes a delightful keepsake.
